November 14th | The Orpheus Trio

Thursday, November 14 will see the final concert in this year’s North Cork Classical Music series, the venue being the Village Arts Centre in Kilworth.

This follows a number of very successful concerts held earlier during the summer months in the churches of St Colman’s (Farahy), St George’s (Mitchelstown) and St Mary’s (Doneraile).

This concert comes a little later than usual in the season due to a number of reasons outside of the organisers’ control but is well worth waiting for. It will feature The Orpheus Trio who will be remembered for their wonderful programme in St Colman’s in June. The trio is made up of flautist Eilis O’Sullivan, guitarist Jerry Creedon and cellist Joan Scannell.

EILIS O’SULLIVAN

Eilis has performed widely as a soloist with appearances varying from a performance for the Prince of Wales at Hollyrood Palace, Edinburgh to solo appearances at the main concert halls and music club venues throughout Ireland, Britain and Germany. Guest concerto engagements include performances in the United States, Scotland, and Ireland.

JERRY CREEDON

Jerry is an experienced musician and has performed in Ireland, Germany and Spain, both as a soloist and a chamber musician. He has appeared with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles and has his own Jazz Ensemble with which he performs at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. He has performed at the National Concert Hall, Universities, and numerous Festivals.

HUGH McCARTHY

Hugh McCarthy is an active performance cellist. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Limerick and a Master of Arts degree in music performance (cello) and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cork School of Music

He is involved in a very wide variety of musical activity in Ireland. Hugh enjoys solo cello performance, but ensemble playing remains his passion.
