Stagemad Theatre Company are thrilled to bring the smash hit ‘Jetty Stars’ by Noel Kelly, to The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth on Thursday, April 2 at 8pm. The play had its premiere in Waterford and Cork in 2019, to rave reviews and spontaneous standing ovations.

Set on the wharf and jetties of the city, Stella (A Jetty Star) returns after serving a seventeen prison sentence to re-imagine her life on the thriving city centre docks, where she plied her trade and the events that tore her family asunder.

Actor Noelle Clarke talking about her role of Stella said: “This is the most demanding role I have played in my career, leaving me exhausted and exhilarated after each performance.”
The Irish Times newspaper described Noelle’s performance as mesmerizing and memorable. ‘Jetty Stars’ started out as a radio play on WLRFM receiving an Imro nomination. When James Power of Stagemad read the script for the first time, he was blown away by the gritty and edgy nature of the writing.
Director of the play James, said recently: “The power and nature of the script told me to make it a stage play of which I’m very glad to have done.”
